રસકવિ રઘુનાથ બ્રહ્મભટ્ટ્ના રંગભૂમીના ખુબ જાણીતા ગીતો નુ એક સુંદર આલ્બમ “વંસ મોર” ઘણા વખત પહેલા સાંભળેલુ. કદાચ આ ગીત પણ એ આલ્બમમાં જ હતુ. આમ તો બધા ગીતો ગમેલા પણ અમુક ગીતો યાદ રહી ગયા છે જે ફરી-ફરીને સાંભળવાનુ મન થાય. જેટલી યાદ આવે એટલી માહિતી રજૂ કરુ છુ.

I received this email and i jumped on it! I have visited ‘Tahuko’ quite often, but did not want to miss this opportunity to listen to Resp. Raskavi’s beautiful kruti! One feels like listening over and over! Still always refreshing! I know famous Trinity, but this Trinity (Triputi – Raskavi, Desai and Jayshree) did ‘kamaal’! Hats off to everyone! Thanks to all! Pl. keep this ‘parab’ always open, where gujarati kavita/sahitya thirsty people can come and quench their thirst! Pl. keep it up!
Raskavi will be remembered forever! He will always stay alive in the hearts of people and esp. lovers (of every kind!). We always will remember him, esp. special day like this one when we are celebrating his ‘Janma Jayanti’. This was a very nice way to pay tribute to a great kavi like Raskavi! I always wonder when i hear or read his poems/geeto/kruti that what type of superb heart (and maybe mind!) he must have to create such krutis! He must be always in a form of eternal bliss! I have no doubt that when he was alive, he must be always very close to God!

Raaskavi (dadaji) lived for 91 Years. He had lost his father at very young age and hence burden of running the household did not permit him to complete schooling. At the age of sixteen, his drama ‘Buddhadev” was a smash hit in the Mumbai Drama Theatre. He never looked back thereafter.
He used his thick ink-fountain-pen, for 75 years to serve Gujarati-bhasha through numerous Kavita, Natak, Navalika and lekh in Gujarati news-papers and magazines like Akhand-anand and Navnit to name a few.
His creations are proud possession and heritage of every Gujarati. His centenary was celebrated in Birla Matushri Sabhagrah in Mumbai in 1996. A cassette titled “Once More” was released to comemorate the occasion. This cassette is a collection of songs including Hashya-raas, Pranay-raas, Vairagya-raas, Virah-raas etc.

I spend six months each year at D D University in Nadiad. I always feel happy to remember that a great poet, Raskavi Raghunath Brahmbhatt lived in this town. He wrote the famous song Mohe Panghat pe Nandlal Chhed gayo re for the movie Mugle Azam. It was discovered by chance that he was the original writer and not Shakil Badayuni who wrote other songs of this movie.
