આ દુનિયામાં જો કોઇ જબરજસ્ત transformation થતું હશે તો એ એ કે કન્યા જ્યારે મા બને છે. એનું શરીર, મન, બોલવું-ચાલવું, વ્યવહાર, જીવન આખું બદલાઈ જાય છે…ફક્ત એના દેવના દીધેલને માટે. અને આ transformation એવું કે જીવનપર્યંત એ મા જ રહે છે. ૯ મહિનાની પ્રસૂતિની વેદના, નવજાત શિશુનો ઉછેર અને એમ કરતાં કરતાં આખી દુનિયાથી અલિપ્ત થઈ જવું, આવા કેટલાય તબક્કાઓમાંથી પસાર થાય છે, ફક્ત એના બાળકના વિકાસ માટે! આવી આ મા જ્યાં સુધી જીવતી છે ત્યાં સુધી સંસ્ક્રુતિ જીવતી છે! અને એ માતાનું ભારતીય વિચારધારાએ વૈશ્વિકરણ એ રીતે કર્યું છે કે આપણે ગાય, નદી, પ્રુથ્વી, દેશ (ભારતમાતા), અરે ભગવાન સુધ્ધાંને માતા કહીએ છીએ. અહીં અમેરિકામાં આજનો દિવસ મધર્સ ડે છે, જ્યારે ત્યાં ભારતમાં હર દિવસની સવાર બાળકો માતાને માત્રુદેવો ભવ કહીને રોજેરોજ માત્રુદિન ઊજવે છે….ત્યારે એ નિમિત્તે આજે આપણે આપણી માતાને કહીએ કે “જનનીની જોડ સખી નહી મળે રે લોલ”.
પુરુષોત્તમ ઉપાધ્યાયના કંઠે આ મધુરુ ગીત શરૂ થાય તે પહેલા કવિ સુરેન ઠક્કર ‘મેહુલ’ એ કરેલી વાતો, એક-બે કાલ્પનિક પ્રસંગોની રજુઆત….. ખરેખર આંખો ભીની કરી જાય છે.

કાળજામાં કૈંક ભર્યા કોડ રે … જનનીની
ચિત્તડું ચડેલ એનું ચાકડે રે લોલ,
પળના બાંધેલ એના પ્રાણ રે … જનનીની
મૂંગી આશિષ ઉરે મલકતી રે લોલ,
લેતા ખૂટે ન એની લહાણ રે … જનનીની
ધરતી માતા એ હશે ધ્રૂજતી રે લોલ,
અચળા અચૂક એક માય રે … જનનીની
ગંગાનાં નીર તો વધે ઘટે રે લોલ,
સરખો એ પ્રેમનો પ્રવાહ રે … જનનીની
વરસે ઘડીક વ્યોમવાદળી રે લોલ,
માડીનો મેઘ બારે માસ રે … જનનીની
ચળતી ચંદાની દીસે ચાંદની રે લોલ,
એનો નહિ આથમે ઉજાસ રે

માતાના ગુણગાન ગાતા આ ગીતની પણ કોઇ જોડ નહી મળે.
પરંતુ, Mother’s Day (!!!!!!!!!!!!!) ની ઉજવણી કરવી પડે તેનાથી વધારે કરુણતા એક માતા માટે શું હોય? આ તો સંસ્કૃતિની દેન છે કે પાશ્ચાત્ય દેશોમાં મધર્સ ડે, ઉજવવો પડે અને આપણા ભારત વર્ષમાં તો જેમ જયશ્રીએ લખ્યું તેમ રોજે રોજ માતૃદેવો ભવ.

Visited the site for the first time
listened to Janni ni jod sakhi nahi male re lol geet.
Just took me back to my place in Ahmedabad the home, the trees, the zhulo the beautuful sounds of birds and my parents enjoying an evening with a sip of tea togather on the same zhulo. which is still there in a closed home.
