આજે ફરીથી એક એવી ગઝલ લાવી છું, કે જેટલીવાર સાંભળો એટલીવાર વધુ ને વધુ ગમતી જ જાય…
ટહુકો પર પહેલા 4 જુદા અવાજમાં મુકેલી આ ગઝલ - આજે એક નવા સુમધુર સ્વર સાથે ફરીથી એકવાર રજુ કરું છું - અને એ અવાજ આમ તો હવે કોઇના માટે નવો નહીં રહ્યો હોય. છેલ્લા થોડા મહિનામાં તો એણે જાણે દેશ-દુનિયાના ભારતીયોને પોતાના અવાજનુ ઘેલુ લગાડ્યું છે.

થોડા દિવસો પહેલા કુણાલના બ્લોગ પર મારી એક ઘણી ગમતી ગઝલ વાંચવા મળી. આમ તો હું વિચારતે જ હતી કે આ ગઝલ કોઇ દિવસ તમને પણ ચોક્કસ સંભળાવીશ, આ ગઝલ વાંચીને હવે સાંભળવામા મોડુ શું કરવા કરવું, એમ ને ?
તો આ વિષેની થોડી વાતો કુણાલ તરફથી. 
અને એક જ ગઝલ ચાર જુદા જુદા અવાજમાં, મારા તરફથી….

અહેમદ ફરાઝ… પાકિસ્તાનના શાયરોમાં કદાચ સૌથી વધુ પંકાયેલા શાયર…. તેમની ગઝલો અને નઝમો almost બધાં જ નામાંકિત ગઝલ-ગાયકોએ ગાઈ છે અને શોખીનો માણતા અને વખાણતા આવ્યા છે…
એમની આ એક ગઝલ જે મારી પ્રિય ગઝલોમાંની એક છે… અને બીજા ગાયકો કરતાં મને ( એટલે કે કુણાલને ) મેંહદી હસનનું composition સૌથી વધુ ગમે છે…
સ્વર : મેંહદી હસન
સ્વર : રુના લૈલા
સ્વર : શહેનાઝ બેગમ
સ્વર : આશા ભોંસલે
( મને આ ગઝલોનું રિમિક્સ નથી ગમતું હોં.. એમ તો મને કોઇ પણ ગીતનું રિમિક્સ નથી ગમતું, પણ મને થયું, direct comparision થઇ શકે એટલા પૂરતી પણ આ ગઝલ મુકવામાં વાંધો નથી. )
रंजिश ही सही, दिल ही दुखाने के लिये आ…
आ फीर से मुजे़ छोड़ के जाने के लिये आ…(ranjish : animosity)
पहेले से मरा़सिम न सही फीर भी कभी तो
रस्म-ओ-राहे दुनीया ही निभाने के लिये आ…(maraasim : relationship; rasm-o-rahe duniyaa : manners, traditions of the world)
किस-किस को बतायेंगे जुदाई का सबब हम
तु मुज़से ख़फा है तो ज़माने के लिये आ…कुछ़ तो मेरे पींदार-ए-मुहोब्बत का भरम रख़
तु भी तो कभी मुज़को मनाने के लिये आ…(pindaar-e-muhabbat : love’s pride)
इक उम्र से हुं लज्ज़त-ए-गीरीया से भी मेहेरु़म…
ए राहत-ए-जां मुज़ को रुलाने के लिये आ…(umr : ages; lazzat-e-giriyaa : joy of crying; mahruum : devoid; raahat-e-jaaN : comfort of the soul)
अब तक दिल-ए-खु़श फ़हम को है तुज़से उम्मीदें..
ये आखीरी शम्में भी बुज़ाने के लिये आ…(dil-e-Khush-feh’m : understanding/gullible heart; ummideN : hopes; shammeN : lights)

હવે ના બે શેર હકીકતમાં તાલિબ઼ બાગ઼પતીના છે પણ મેંહદી હસન એને હંમેશા આ ગઝલની સાથે જોડી દે છે… છેલ્લો શેર મારો favourite છે… ( અને પહેલો શેર જયશ્રીનો favourite છે. )
माना के मुहोब्बत का छुपाना भी है मुहोब्बत…
चुपके से कीसी रोज़ ये जताने के लिये आ…जैसे तुज़े आते है ना आने के बहाने…
ऐसे ही किसी रोज़ ना जाने के लिये आ…

અહેમદ ફરાઝની આ શિરમોર ગઝલ એકસાથે ચાર-ચાર સિદ્ધહસ્ત ગાયકોના તારસ્વરે સાંભળવા મળે એ પોતે એક અનોખો ઉત્સવ છે… છેલ્લા બે દિવસથી આ ગઝલ ચારેય ગાયકોના કંઠે વારંવાર સાંભળી રહ્યો છું… પણ જે મીઠાશથી અને શાંતિથી મહેંદી હસને આ ગઝલને મલાવી-મલાવીને ગાઈ છે એ અભૂતપૂર્વ છે અને સરખામણીની હદોની પાર છે. જો કે આ ઉમદા ગઝલના અંતે જે બે શેર અન્ય કવિના જોડી દીધા છે એ સોનાની થાળીમાં લોઢાની મેખથી વિશેષ કંઈ જ નથી… આ રીત કોઈ સર્જકને અન્યાય કરવાનો કોઈ ગાયકને શું અધિકાર?

જયશ્રી,
સુંદર ગઝ્લ શબ્દોમાં અને સંગીત બંનેમાં અને તે પણ ચા૨ સુપ્રસિધ્ધ ગાયકોના અવાજમાં અહીં ઉપલબ્ધ કરવા બદલ ખૂબ આભાર! મહેંદી હ્સનનો અવાજ અને ગાયકી ગમવી કે એના વખાણ કરવા એમાં કાઈ નવું નથી તો યે લખીશ કે મારા ખૂબ ગમતા મહાન ગાયકની ગઝલ સાંભળીને ખૂબ આનંદ થયો.

I like this concept of putting all versions together.Listening to prerecorded music has its own limitations.When one song is repeatedly listened,it has such strong sense of recall that first reaction is to reject the fresh rendering.Now consider these points:A new singer records when he has a new way of expressing the same lyrics.From the angel of recording technology’s point of view,what is available now is very different from say that available at the time of first recording of Mehdi Hassan.Hence,chance to sing again!.If we concentrate on singer’s voice only,then we do feel a rooh(atma) conversing with god.All singers here have been faithful to original composition.Certainly,a nice way of forgetting the world for some moments at least.I heard this in the morning and I am happy to have heard such a pleasant preyers sung in praise of saheb!Thanks.!

After ages, heard this lovely gazal in the voice of Mahendi Hasan saheb and became very nostalgic. The feeling you get listening to this gazal is beyond this world.

I do not have any Indian channels and I do not regret it, but today I do feel I missed out on seeing Aishwarya singing live. She has a beautiful voice and sings really nice.

Loved it, all four are too good. Giving a sequence number is real unjustice as all have given their best. I still recall listening to Mehdi at Sanmukhanand Hall before 30 years. Thanks a million Jaysgree ben
