ધીખરતી ધરતીને માથે ભીનો ભીનો વીંઝણલો ઢાળ્યો.
દૂર દૂર દૂર દખ્ખણના ઢોલ વાગ્યાઃ મસ્ત મેહુલિયો આયો રે!
બજે આભે નિશાન ડંકો, એને પવન નાંખતો પંખો;
થયો ધરતીનો પાવન મનખો, આજ ઘર આવે એનો બંકો.
દળ વાદળનાં મોતી વેરતાં, ગગન મલ્હાર ગવાયો રે!
લીલી લીલી ધરતી મન મલકંતી તરુવર ચઢીને બોલે,
ખળખળખળ ખળખળખળ સરિતા ને ઝરણાં સરવરિયા પણ ડોલે.
વસુંધરાનો પાલવ લ્હેરે, તરસ્યાનો જામ ભરાયો રે!
….કાનમાં પવન કહીને ચાલ્યો- કે હે આવે મેહુલિયો!…….
ધોધમાર વસાદ પડી રહ્યો હોય અને ધરતી એનું ખોબેખોબે રસપાન કરી રહી હોય ત્યારે એ દ્રશ્ય આંખ સામે આવે કે જાણે માતાએ હમણાં જ જન્મેલા બાળકને ખોળે લીધું છે અને એના સ્તનમાંથી આપોઆપ જ દૂધની સેરો નીકળી રહી છે! માતાના દૂધમાંથી મળતા સંસ્કાર, પોષણ અને હૂંફ બળકનું જીવનપર્યંતનું ભાથું બની રહે છે એમ વરસાદ પણ ધરતીને જાણે આખા વર્ષનું પોષણ પૂરું પાડે છે. ભગવાને વરસાદ આપીને પોતાના લાડલા દીકરા માણસને કેટકેટલું આપી દીધું છે!! પાણી જ જીવન છે, અને સંસ્કૃતમાં પાણીને “જીવન” પણ કહે છે.
વરસાદ પડતાં જ મન બાળક બની જાય છે અને આપણે મોગરાના ફૂલ પર પડેલાં ટીપાં પી જઈએ છીએ, કાગળની હોડી બનાવી એમાં કીડી ને મંકોડાને મૂકી હોડીને તરતી મૂકી દઈએ છીએ. વરસાદ પડતાં જ મન પ્રેમી બની જાય છે અને વરને સાદ પાડીને બોલાવી Hero Hondaને આપણા romantic ઉન્માદોની kick મારી મકાઈ ખાવા નીકળી પડીએ છીએ. વરસાદ પડે અને મન મીરાંબાઈ બની જાય અને કહે કે “હું તો વ્હાલાના વરસાદે જ ભીંજાવું”, અન્યથી તો કોરી ને કોરી!
પાણીનું મહત્વ કોણ જાણે? એક તો છે દરિયાની માછલી કે જે સતત પાણીમાં જ મસ્ત છે, પાણીથી જ એનું જીવન છે. બીજું આ આકાશ કે જે પાણીના વાદળથી ભરેલું અને ખીલેલું લાગે છે. ઝાડ કે જે પાણીથી મ્હોરી ઊઠે છે. નદી કે જે પાણીથી ધસમસતી તરુણી બને છે. આપણા જીવનમાં પણ કોઈ પાણી બનીને આવ્યું હશે કે જેનાથી આપણે જીવીએ છીએ, જીવન ભરેલું છે, ખીલેલું છે, મઘમઘતું છે- એ “કોઈ”ને યાદ કરી કૃતજ્ઞ થવાના દિવસો એટલે આ વરસાદી મોસમ!
પ્રસ્તુત ગીતમાં વરસાદનું ખૂબ સરસ વર્ણન કરેલું છે. છાનું રે છપનું કાંઈ થાય નહી અને ઝાંઝર કે હાથની બંગડી જેમ ચાડી ખાય તેમ મેહુલિયો આવી રહ્યો છે અને ધરતી એના મિલને ઉત્સુક છે એ વાતની ચાડી આપણા કાનમાં પવન કરી જાય છે. અને પછી તો વરસાદ પણ નક્કી કરે છે કે જબ પ્યાર કિયા તો ડરના ક્યા અને ચોરી છૂપીથી નહી પણ દખ્ખણના ઢોલ વગાડતો આવી પહોંચે છે…….અને હવે તો ભરાયો છે એટલે વસુંધરાનો પાલવ પણ લ્હેરે છે! ખૂબ સુંદર શબ્દો અને સ્વરનિયોજનનુ શ્રુતિવૃંદે ગાયેલું આ ગીત અંતમાં અચાનક ધીમું પડી જાય છે ત્યારે પ્રશ્ન થાય કે આનંદ અને ઉત્સવના આ ધરતી-વરસાદના મિલનના વાતાવરણમાં આ ગંભીરતા શાની?? અહીં જ તો સ્વરકાર ક્ષેમુભાઈએ કમાલ કરી છે- ધીમું પડી જતું ગીત આપણને જાણે કવિ કાન્તના ચક્રવાક મિથુન કાવ્યની એ પંક્તિઓ યાદ કરાવી જાય છેઃ “પ્રણયની પણ તૃપ્તિ થતી નથી, પ્રણયની અભિલાષ જતી નથી” મિલનના સંતોષ અને કાંઈક મળ્યું છે એના વિચારોમાં મગ્ન ધરતી પાસું ફેરવીને જુએ છે તો એનો મેહુલિયો તો છે નહી!! ત્યાં જ જાણે પેલો પવન ફરીથી એના કાનમાં કહેતો હોય છે કે “કે હે આવે મેહુલિયો……આવતા શ્રાવણમાં!” અને એ મિલન પછીની જુદાઈ જાણે ધરતીથી જીરવાતી ના હોય એના સંકેત રૂપે ગીત પણ ધીમું થઈ જાય છે! પણ એક વાતની મોટી ખુશી ધરતી પાસે છે કે ધરતી હવે એકલી નથી, એનો પાલવ હવે લહેરાઈ રહ્યો છે, અને આશ્વાસન છે કે આવતા શ્રાવણમાં વરસાદ આવશે જ!

જયશ્રી - આજે તો ઘણી મજા પડી - તારુ વર્ણન તો ફરી ફરી વાંચ્યું. આ કવિતાના લેખક કોણ છે?

આ વર્ણન મેં નથી લખ્યું. પણ લખનાર મિત્રને પોતાનું નામ નથી આપવું, એટલે મેં એમનું નામ લખવાનું ટાળ્યું.

ગીત અને વર્ણન — બંને ખુબ સરસ. વાંચવાની મજા આવી.. મુંબઈનો વરસાદી ‘ઉન્માદ’ યાદ આવી ગયો..વરલી સી-ફેસ પર ઉછળતાં મોજાં– ખડકો સાથે અથડાઈને પાછાં ફેકાતાં..

i still remember those wonderful days
i am a kuchhi basically and about 3-4 yrs back we held for the first time festival for kucchi new year on AHSHDHI BEEJ and i m also a professional garba player
that time we decided to preform a whole theme on WATER to welcome the work of narmada canal in kucch.
and that time we selected this song and i liked it so much from that time.
i still remember the whole choreography n atmosphere that time

ખૂબ જ સુંદર ગીત!
ગીત સાંભળતા લાગે છે જાણે વાદળ ગર્જી રહ્યા છે, વીજળી ચમકે છે, અને ધોધમાર વરસાદ પડી રહ્યો છે.
ગીત બંધ કરે કેટલીયે પળો વીતી ગઈ, હજીય કાનમાં દખ્ખણના ઢોલ વાગી રહ્યા છે.
ગગન મલ્હાર ગાય ત્યારે લીલી ધરતી, સરિતા, ઝરણા, સરવરિયા ડોલવા લાગે, અને ત્યારે માનવ મન ઝૂમી ના ઊઠે તો જ નવાઈ!
ગીત પછીના વિવેચનના ઝાપટા ખરેખર ભીંજવી ગયા! અભિનંદન!
ગીતની હેલી કરવામાં જે જે માનવ વાદળો એ ભાગ લીધો તે સૌને અભિનંદન!

મેહુલો આવે ત્યારે માધવ યાદ આવે કે પછી આપણી પ્રિય વ્યક્તિ…. વરસાદની મોસમમાં પોતાની પ્રિય વ્યક્તિ સાથે એક જ છ્ત્રીતળે ચાલતાં ચાલતાં વરસાદ તો ખરો પણ એક્મેકથી ભીંજાવાની મજા ઓર જ છે….

Do not know whare to start complimenting you. You have been doing excellent work for Musical World, specially for Gujarati Shrawako. Y’day on Nov. 2, 2007, first time acciendently I found the link of Tahuko and I have forwarded to more than 10 friends of mine to take pleasure of this Gujarati Sangeet Treasure. Dil thi hu Gujrati Sangeet no chahak rahyo chhu, varsho pachi gujarati sangeet no khajano sampadyo chhe.
I have also requested another song of Shruti Vrind ” Shunyata Ma Pankhar Khariti rahi ” I would be very greatful to listen it on this tirthdham.

this is the song which i love to listen since my childhood…today only I found this site and I listen to this song 6-7 times in a row…I would heartly request the person, who is maintaining the site, i guess, the name is Jayashreeben, to upload the whole songs, if possible…please do that…or else provide some source from which I can listen to whole songs…this request is for all songs uploaded in the site and gradually going to be uploaded on the site…but I wud definitely like to say that a GREATwork is done by creating such a site and also maintaining it…
