જીવનને આંગણે તારી જુદાઇમાં લીલા
દિવસ કે રાત હોય બન્ને ઉદાસ આવે છે
ને વરસો વિત્યાં છતાં પણ કિનારે તાપીના
હજીય શ્વાસની તારા સુવાસ આવે છે.

જુવાની મહોબ્બતના દમ લઇ રહી છે
મને દિલની ધડકન ખબર દઇ રહી છે
પ્રણય રૂપ ના રંગ જોવાને માટે
બધાની નજર એ તરફ થઇ રહી છે
જુઓ લીલા કોલેજમાં જઇ રહી છે
કમલ જેવાં કરમાં એ પુસ્તક ઉઠાવી
પ્રણય ઉર્મીઓ મનની મનમાં સમાવી
મનોભાવ મુખ પર ન દેખાય તેથી
અદાથી જરા ડોક નીચી નમાવી
મને અવનવી પ્રેરણા દઇ રહી છે
જુઓ લીલા કોલેજમાં જઇ રહી છે
છે લાલી માં જે લચકતી લલીતા
ગતી એવી જાણે સરકતી સરીતા
કલાથી વિભુષીત કલાકાર માટે
કવિતા જ સુંદર બનીને કવિતા
પ્રભુની પ્રભા ની ઝલક દઇ રહી છે
જુઓ લીલા કોલેજમાં જઇ રહી છે
ન સુરમો, ન કાજલ, ન પાવડર ન લાલી
છતાંય એની રંગત છે સૌ માં નિરાલી
બધી ફેશનેબલ સખીઓ ની વચ્ચે
છે સાદાઇ માં એની જાહોજલાલી
શું ખાદીની સાડી મજા દઇ રહી છે
જુઓ લીલા કોલેજમાં જઇ રહી છે
સરળથી ય સરળ છે એની સરળતા
નથી શબ્દ સમજાવવા કોઇ મળતા
લખું તોય લખતાં ન કાંઇ લખાયે
શમી જાય છે ભાવ હૈયે ઉછળતાં
અજબ મારા મનની દશા થઇ રહી છે
જુઓ લીલા કોલેજમાં જઇ રહી છે
ભલા કોણ જાણે કે કોને રિઝવવા
અને કોના દિલની કળીને ખિલવવા
એ દરરોજ બે-ચાર સખીઓની સાથે
એ જાયે છે ભણવા કે ઉઠાં ભણવવા
ન સમજાય તેવી કલા થઇ રહી છે
જુઓ લીલા કોલેજમાં જઇ રહી છે
કોઇ કહે છે જાય છે ચિત્રો ચિતરવા
કહે છે કોઇ જ્ઞાન ભંડાર ભરવા
કોઇ કેમ સમજે આ બાબતને ‘આસીમ’
અધુરાં પ્રણય પાઠ ને પુર્ણ કરવા
એ દરરોજ ભણતરનાં સમ લઇ રહી છે

સુરતના ચિરાયુ કવિની સરળ શબ્દોમાં સહજ અભિવ્યક્તિ. ‘લીલાકાવ્યો’ આપણી ભાષામાં અલગ અમીટ છાપ છોડી ગયા છે… ઘણા સમયે આ ગીત સાંભળવા મળ્યું. આભાર…
