I am certain my daddy late Shri Natubhai Baranpuria of Baroda is the poet of this Bal-geet. He was a child educator, stage actor, writer of numerous kid’s stories, plays, and Bal-Geets from 1950 to 1973. He produced the children’s program popularly known as ‘Rang Rang Vadaliya” from Baroda All India Radio Station for more than ten years. He also acted and directed in tri-ankee gujarati plays for Kala-Kendra and Nat-Ghar of Music college of Baroda. His Bal-Geet book was published in Baroda after his passing away in 1973. More than 100 songs and radio plays created by him were either lost or credited to someone else after his death.
I have lived in Texas with my family since 1965, and being farther away from India,was unable to properly take care of my dad’s literary creations.
I appreciate your efforts in keeping Gujarati culture live and vibrant.

અમે(હું અને મારા પત્ની) રોજ હાર્મોનીયમ પર આ ગીત વગાડી તેને ગાઈ સંભળાવીયે. તે પણ સાથે ગાય અને રાજી થાય્!

વાહ વાહ બહુ સરસ બાલગીત ઘણા સમયે સાંભળ્યુ….અને હવે તો આ ચકલીઓ તો જાણે લુપ્ત જ થઈ ગઈ છે…મારી તમને બધા ને વિનંતિ કે તમો સૌ આ ચકલીઓ ને બચાવા માટે તમારા ઘરો ના બગીચામા તેમજ ઘરોમા તેમને માળો બાંધી શકે તેવી વ્યવસ્થા કરો નહિ તો આપણી આગળની પેઢીને આ પંખી જોવુ દુર્લભ બની જશે….આપનો ખુબ ખુબ આભાર.

ખુબ જ સુન્દર રચના.મારિ દિકરી નાની હતી ત્યારે આ ગીત મારી પત્નિ એને સુવડ્તી વખતે બહુ જ ગાતી. આવા બીજા ઘણા સુન્દર બાલગીતો ગુજરાતી સાહીત્ય મા છે, જે આજ કાલ ભુલાતા જવાય છે.આ પર થી બીજા થોડા ગીતો પણ્ યાદ આવે છે.
“નાની મારી આન્ખ તે જોતી કાક કાક, એ તો કેવિ અજબ જેવી વાત છે.”
“વાર્તા રે વાર્તા… ભાભા ઢોર ચારતા, ચપટી બોર લાવતા”

આ બધા ગીતો ક્યાય થી મલિ શકે…..?

આજ કાલ હું ગુજરાતી માં લખવાનો પ્રયત્ન કરુ chhun.(I couldn’t write that word in guj,though I had the keyboard open )તને ગમ્યું હશે.પણ ચકીબેન નું ગીત સાંભળવાની મઝા આવી ગઈ.

Recently, on November 12th, 2009, I met my primary school teacher and family. We went back in to 50’s good old days and remeber all the teachers and many poem. Heart was filled with emotions during that shortest two hours of my life. One of the poem was “Gam ne gondre gadu aave gadu aave gada no bely serdi lave’ something like that. To go back to childhood memory, which no one in this world can replace, is the great feeling. Each ad every time we listen and/read childhood or teen age time poems, filmy songs such as from Jagriti, Sahiid, feel like should take off in next flight to India and never come back, where all most every NRI’s heart is while body is in pardesh, such as U.S London, Dubai and many other country.

Hu nano hato tyare aa maru one of the favourite geet hatu ane I think ke hu aa geet to barada padi ne j gato hato… It’s great feeling to hear this song again…
Well done! Though this is supposed to be a “Baalgit” all the GROWNUPS would definately love it!!

I am so glad to read and listen this poem after years and years. We had learned in our School Life which still remembered even today after 55 Years.
I made my Grand Kids to listen the same poem who also liked it and wanted me to repeat to listen the same once more although they are schooling from USA.
This is good achiement from Poet and Singer too.

મારી દીકરી સ્તુતિ એ આ ગીત ઉપર બહુ સરસ dance કર્યો હતો. એ યાદ આવી ગઇ એ ભારત મા છે. પણ એનો video હજુ પણ મારી પાસે છે.

It is nice Children Song ( Bal Kavya ). This Poem was coming in our Study in our Fellowship school in Mumbai. It is very nice and love to hear every now and then. Now along with us our Grand Kids are also enjoying to listen this Karna priya song though they are studying in Frank Forest Park School in Fremont, CA., USA.
Hearing this song we remember our old Golden days of 2nd Grade of Primary Class.

સાંભળવાની ખૂબ જ મઝા આવી. આ નામોમાં કવિ ? સ્વર ? સંગીતકાર ? ની માહિતિ જોઈએ છે.
આ ગીત થી બીજું આવું ગીત યાદ આવી ગયું. “ચાલો જોવા ચાલો જોવા નવી જાતનું સરઘસ જાય્,સૌ ની આગળ ચકલી ચાલે, ગાતાં ગાતાં ચીં ચીં ” આવા બાળગીતો સાંભળવાની મઝા તો છે જ પણ સાથે સાથે સાંઠ વર્ષની ઉંમરમાંથી સરકી જઈ છ વર્ષનાં થઈ ગયાની અનુભૂતિ થાય છે. આભર અને અભિનંદન.
