હવે પહેલો વરસાદ બીજો વરસાદ અને છેલ્લો વરસાદ
એવું કાંઇ નહીં !
હવે માટીની ગંધ અને ભીનો સંબંધ અને મધમધતો સાદ,
એવું કાંઇ નહીં !
સાવ કોરુંકટાક આભ, કોરોકટાક મોભ, કોરાંકટાક બધાં નળિયાં,
સાવ કોરી અગાસી અને તેય બારમાસી, હવે જળમાં ગણો
તો ઝળઝળિયાં !
ઝીણી ઝરમરનું ઝાડ, પછી ઊજળો ઉધાડ પછી ફરફરતી યાદ,
એવું કાંઇ નહીં !
હવે માટીની ગંધ અને ભીનો સંબંધ અને મધમધતો સાદ,
એવું કાંઇ નહીં !
કાળું ભમ્મર આકાશ મને ઘેઘૂર બોલાશ સંભળાવે નહીં;
મોર આઘે મોભારે ક્યાંક ટહૂકે તે મારે ઘેર આવે નહીં.
આછા ઘેરા ઝબકારા, દૂર સીમે હલકારા લઇને આવે ઉન્માદ,
એવું કાંઇ નહીં !
હવે માટીની ગંધ અને ભીનો સંબંધ અને મધમધતો સાદ,
એવું કાંઇ નહીં !
કોઇ ઝૂકી ઝરુખે સાવ કજળેલા મુખે વાટ જોતું નથી;
કોઇ ભીની હવાથી શ્વાસ ઘૂંટીને સાનભાન ખોતું નથી.
કોઇના પાલવની ઝૂલ, ભીની ભીની થાય ભૂલ, રોમ્રોમે સંવાદ
એવું કાંઇ નહીં !
હવે માટીની ગંધ અને ભીનો સંબંધ અને મધમધતો સાદ,
એવું કાંઇ નહીં !
