ગુજરાતમાં કન્યાવિદાય વખતે કદાચ સૌથી વધુ ગવાયેલું આ ગીત… ‘દીકરી તો પારકી થાપણ કહેવાય’ - હજુ સુધી ટહુકો પર ન હતુ એના બે કારણ, અને આમ જોવા જઇએ તો બંને કારણો થોડા વિરોધાભાસી છે.
‘દીકરી - પારકી થાપણ’ આ વાત મને કોઇ દિવસ ગળે નથી ઉતરી. આખી જિંદગી પપ્પાની લાડકી - લગ્ન પછી પારકી? કદાચ જે સમયે આ ગીત બન્યું એ વખતે (અને કદાચ આજે પણ?) સમાજમાં એ માન્યતા પ્રચલિત હશે.
બીજું કારણ - ભલે હું આ ગીતની પ્રથમ પંક્તિ સાથે પોતાને relate નથી કરી શકતી, છતાં પણ આ ગીત વાગતું હોય તો એ પુરુ થાય એ પહેલા આંખો ભીંજાય જાય છે. આજ સુધી એ હિંમત નથી આવી કે લાગણીશીલ થયા વગર આ ગીત સાંભળી શકું.

ઘણા વખતે સાંભળી સાચે જ પાંપણ ભીંજવી ગયું!
અને આ મારી દિકરીનો ફોટો ક્યાંથી મળ્યો? કદાચ બધી દિકરી આવી જ લાગતી હશે. મારી એક દિકરી તો “દીકરી ને ગાય, દોરે ત્યાં જાય-પેરડીમાં ગાતી દિકરીને ગાય ફાવે ત્યાં જાય!”
આ સાંભળતા ભાવાત્મક સ્થિતીમાં મારી વાત અજુગતી લાગે તો

-બોલવામાં સરસ લાગે છે પણ ખરેખરા અર્થમાં આપણે કેટલા સુધર્યા છીએ? માનું છું કે સમાજના ઘણાખરા ભાગમાં સ્ત્રીઓની ભણતર-ઘડતર અને કદાચ સર્વાંગી ધોરણે ઉન્નતિ થઈ હશે પણ આખા ભારતીય સમાજની સ્ત્રીઓના કેટલા ટકા?
સ્ત્રી ભ્રૂણહત્યા, દહેજ, સ્ત્રી શોષણ કે પતિ દ્વારા થતા બળાત્કાર અને કાયમ માટે ‘સેકન્ડ પોઝીશન’ - આમાંથી કશાયમાં સુધારો કરી શક્યા છીએ ખરા આપણે? જે જમાનામાં આ ગીત લખાયું હતું એ જમાનામાં તો એ સાંગોપાંગ પ્રસ્તુત હતું જ, આજે ય આ ગીત એટલું જ પ્રસ્તુત છે અને સો વર્ષ પછી પણ આટલું જ પ્રસ્તુત રહેશે…
આ કડીઓ આપણને કઠે છે છતાં આપણી આંખો ભીની થયા વિના રહેતી નથી એ જ વાત પુરવાર કરે છે કે આવાત કડવું સત્ય જ છે… ખોટી વાત કદી ભાવનાના આંસુ ન આણે….

Yes no words to express anything for all time best song. You konw depth of this song only when you are father of a daughter.
Belive be honestly I try several time to listen this full song for more than 15 times but not able to listen it my heart loose its control and i have to stop the song.
