લગભગ 13-14 વર્ષની હતી, ત્યારથી અમુક ગુજરાતી ગીતો સાંભળ્યા છે… છેલાજી રે, પંખીડાને આ પીંજરું, એક રજકણ સૂરજ થવાને શમણે, હવે પ્રભુ અવતાર લ્યો તો પ્રભુ જાણું, આજ મારી નણદીએ મેણું માર્યું.. ઘણા ગીતો નો તો ભાવ પણ નો’તો સમજાતો, તો યે મનભરીને મજા લીઘી છે એ ગીતોની. આજે જો એ બધા ગીતો સાંભળવા મળે તો કદાચ બાળપણ પાછું મળ્યું હોય એવી ખુશી થાય.
મારા ગુજરાતી સંગીત પ્રત્યેના લગાવની શરૂઆત ત્યાંથી થયેલી… પરંતુ આજે પણ જો કોઇ મને ગુજરાતીમાં કંઇ ગાવા કહે ( નસીબ સાંભળનારના, બીજુ શું? ) , કે કોઇ પ્રોગ્રામમાં મારે ફરમાઇશ કરવાની હોય, તો મને સૌથી પહેલા યાદ આવતું ગીત એટલે વેણીભાઇ પુરોહિતની કલમે લખાયેલું આ અમર ગીત. “તારી આંખનો અફીણી, તારા બોલનો બંધાણી”.
આ ગીતના વખાણ કરવા, કે એના વિષે કંઇક પણ કહેવું એ કદાચ મારા ક્ષમતાની બહાર છે. પણ હા, મને એક વાત કહેવાની ઇચ્છા જરૂર થાય છે. ગુજરાતી પ્રણય ગીતોના કોઇ કાઉન્ટ ડાઉન કાર્યક્રમનું સંચાલન મને આપવામાં આવે, તો મારે એ જ વિચારવું પડે કે 2 થી 10 નંબરમાં કયા કયા ગીતો મુકવા? પ્રથમ સ્થાન તો આ જ ગીત ને મળે.
અને આજે આવું ખાસ ગીત મુક્યં હોય, તો એને જરા વધુ ખાસ બનાવીએ, તો કેવું ?
સૌથી પહેલા તો સાંભળો દિવાદાંડી ફિલ્મમાં શ્રી દિલિપભાઇ ધોળકિયાના કંઠે ગવાયેલું અને અજિત મર્ચન્ટનું સ્વરાંકિત થયેલું આ ગીત.

This song is one of my favorite from my very childhood, which I used to listen on radio & from my mother’s voice. After nearly 40 to 45 years today again I listened the very same old melodious song of Venibhai Purohit th. this website & brought back me to my childhood memory.
I feel very proud that I am Gujarati & we have such a rich cultural heritage in Gujarat.

૧૯૫૨ માં પ્રથમ વખત આ ગીત સાંભળ્યું ત્યારથી આજ સુધીમાં ખરેખર આ ગીતનો નંબર પ્રથમજ આવે. ત્યારે તો રેકોર્ડ જ આવતી, ટેપનું તો નામે નહોતું સાંભળ્યુ. એમના અવાજમાં રેકોર્ડ સાંભળવાનો પણ એક લહાવો હતો.
શ્રી દિલીપભાઈના અવસાનથી ખરેખર તો ગુજરાતી સંગીતને તો ખોટ પડીજ છે, પણ આપણે ગુજરાતીઓને તો બહુજ મોટી ખોટ પડી છે. કોઈ પણ ગુજરાતી સુગમ સંગીતનો એવો કાર્યક્રમ નહિં હોય કે જેમાં આ ગીત ન ગવાયું હોય એવું અમર છે.
પ્રભુ તેમના આત્માને પરમ શાંતિ આપે તેવી પ્રાર્થના.

Well, I wanted to post my comment in Gujarati but my poor ability of typing in Gujarati dint allow me….any ways, I heard this songs at my friend’s place, sung by Soli Kapadiya….this man made me crazy…..then he told me about this site…..and here on this site…ohhhhh man, this reach collection, a bunch of fantastic songs along with special comments of the lady(Sorry but I don’t know her name) is charismatic….her way of writing gives an illusion like she is right in front of me and talking to me…..song are excellent….collection is fantastic and the presentation my the lady(Sorry I still don’t know her name) is marvelous…..keep up doing good work…bless you…!!!!

yesterday on 24.10.2010 we were very lucky that we met mu.shri dilipbai ( in a programm for Swar Madhurya a Cinior Citizan’s Music club.)and heared his differant song live in his voice.”tari ankh no afini” he sung in full with meaning . my god ! !!! at the age of 90 years his voice is fantastic. shri dilipbhai ne amara koti koti pranams long live dilipbhi
