આજે ૩૦ જુલાઇ – આપણા મુર્ધન્ય સ્વરકાર શ્રી ક્ષેમુ દિવેટીઆની પૂણ્યતિથિ. તો આપણા સૌ ગુજરાતીઓ તરફથી એમને શ્રધ્ધાંજલી સાથે આજે માણીએ એક એવું ગીત – જે એમણે ગુજરાતી સુગમસંગીતની શાસ્ત્રીયસંગીતને અંજલિ તરીકે બનાવ્યું છે. સાંભળીએ આ ગીત અમરભાઇ પાસે – અને સાથે અમરભાઇના જ શબ્દોમાં થોડી વાતો આ સ્વરાંકન વિષે (ગીતના શબ્દોની નીચે).

ક્ષેમુભાઇનું આ છેલ્લું સ્વરાંકન સુગમ સંગીતની શાસ્ત્રીય સંગીતને અંજલિ છે. સ્થાયી રાગ છાયાનટની ઉસ્તાદ ફેયાઝ ખાનસાહેબે ગાયેલી બંદિશ -ઝનનન બાજે બીછુઆ – પર આધારિત છે.
પ્રથમ અંતરાની પ્રથમ પંક્તિ સૂરશ્રી કેસરબાઈ કેરકરના ગાયેલા રાગ નટકામોદની બંદિશ- નેવર બાજો- પર આધારિત છે. બીજા અંતરાની પ્રથમ પંક્તિ પંડિત ઓમકારનાથજીના ગાયેલા રાગ નીલામ્બરીની બંદિશ- હે મિતવા- પરથી એમણે બાંધી છે અને છેલ્લા અંતરાની પ્રથમ પંક્તિમાં પંડિત રવિશંકરના રાગ પરમેશ્વરીનો આધાર છે. શાસ્ત્રીય સંગીતથી આપણને સમૃદ્ધ કરનાર સૌ દિગ્ગજ કલાકારોને ક્શેમુભાઈની સલામ આ સ્વરાંકનમાં છે, જે જન્મતું જોવાનો ને પ્રથમ વાર ગાવાનો લ્હાવો મને મળ્યો એ મારું સદનસીબ!

Very unique composition which only Mu Kshemubhai could create and only Amar Bhatt could do justice to. We remember the music session organized by Narendra Lakhani in New Jersey to which we took Amar and the late Gaurav Dhru to perform, around 1990. The audience was thrilled to hear them sing. We are extremely delighted to see the unbelievable progress Amar has made since then, and made a most notable mark as an outstanding singer-commentator, in Gujarat and overseas. We regret very much that we could not sponsor Mu Kshemubhai’s visit to USA, a total and complete loss for the audiences here.
