We are extremely grieved to learn about Shree Rasbiharibhai leaving us. We had oppurnities to hear him and Vibhabahen
sitting just opposite to them. We used to meet in Parimal
Garden occasionaly and at the corner of our gully.

Revered RasBhai was my Lecturer for physics subject in 1959-60 in Gujarat Colege and my spouse Chhaya too learnt physics from him.We both were founder members of “Shruti” and he developed high test for Sugam Sangeet.Gave platform to all girls and boys in amadavad,who could sing and wanted to sing.
Last,when Shri Udyan Majmudar and Sushri Rekhaben came to Amadavad ,enjoyed Bhajans with him and Shri Dineshbhai O. Shah of Kapadvanj.That was his last Darshan!!

His persona had a magnetic effect. I came to know him also as a great and loved professor, as a wonderful human being, one of the greatest voices in Music I have come to love (to which he was partially instrumental and had major influence) and one of the most versatile composer.
May the Great Soul be in peace. Om Shanti! The Creator would have liked to listened to him in person! His contribution will never ever be forgotten.

God give Vibhaben the strength to bear this immeasurable loss! We will continue to enjoy his legacy thru his compositions!

ખુબ જ દુખદ સમાચાર ! … બેશક, ભગવાનના શરણે જ પહોંચ્યા છે.
‘હો રસિયા મેં તો શરણ તિહારી… સ્વામિનારાયણ ભગવાનને આજીજી કરતા હોય એમ હ્રીદયના અંતરથી ભાવભર્યું પ્રેમાનંદ સ્વામીનું આ ભજન ગાતા ત્યારે એમ જ લાગતું કે ભગવાન એમની સામે જ છે અને સાંભળે છે. ખરજ-પ્રાધાન્ય પૌરુશમય એમનો કંઠ. પ્રત્યક્ષ સાંભળવા હવે નહિ મળે.
૧૯૮૪માં અમેરિકાની એમની પહેલી મુલાકાત,અને મારે ત્યાં એડીસન,ન્યુ જર્સીમાં એમની ગોઠવાયેલ પહેલી જ સંગીત-સંધ્યા. ‘રાસભાઈ, વિભાબેન, અને વિભાબેનના નાના બેન શુભાબેન સ્વાદિયા’-ની ત્રિપુટી એ ખુબ જ સુંદર મહેફિલ જમાવેલી. કેમ ભૂલાય એ પ્રસંગ? એમનો બીજીવારનો એક અવિસ્મરણીય સંગીત પ્રોગ્રામ ૧૯૮૯માં મારે ત્યાંય હતો.
પ્રભુ એમના આત્માને શાંતિ અર્પે એ જ અમારી પ્રાર્થના.

Raasbhai..a singer who loved poetry a lot and understood it thoroughly.respected poet’s words..tried to convey the meaning through his singing.for him, diction, pronounciation, clearity of words were very important.One of His GREAT contrbutions in the field of KAAVY SANGEET is workshopes conducted by him for singers, where poets were also invited.He belived in inter action between them.A very well read personality in the field of music.talking to him was learning a lot..He had a record of gujarati light music activity which I requested him to publish, as it will be a history of the activity.. and he smiled sweetly.a lover of Radio B’cast and drew attention where ever he felt like.His letters were unique in style..! I had great time with him on and off the stge..he used to call me ” TOKHAAR “…Raasbhai, I will miss your hand on my hair and head.as we are in USA,Vibhaben, pl accept , our deep condolances.

Loss of a true Gujarati poet Rasbeharibhai and that too soon after we are reeling in the irreparable loss due to Su.Da. recently is felt more but inscrutable are the designs of Almighty whose jurisdiction is alas not appeallable.May he find his “Bheru” there as that is the final abode.

રાસભાઈને જયારે પણ ખબર પડે કે હીંગળોક જોષીની પોળમા જવાનું છે.તે હક્કથી આવતા અને ખુબ ગાતા હતા.સાથે વિભાકાકીનો સથવારો તો હોય જ.ભીતરનો ભેરૂથી શરૂઆત થાય અને ધુણી રે ધખાવીથી અંત આવે.ખુબ સાંભળ્યા રાસભાઈને ખુબ શીખ્યા રાસભાઈ પાસેથી.આજે લાગે છે ઈશ્વરે ભીતરના ભેરૂને હંમેશને માટે છીનવી લીધો.જયહાટકેશ.
