સ્વપ્નના ગામમાં રહીને ઊછર્યા અમે
ચાળણીમાં લઇ જળ આ ચાલ્યા અમે
ફૂંકીએ છાશ કે બાળપણમાં કદી
દૂઘથી કંઇક એ રીતે દાઝ્યા અમે
ખુદના રસ્તાની અડચણ અમે ખુદ છીએ
ખુદના પગમાં થઇ છાલાં બાઝ્યાં અમે
હે જગત ! તું તો અમને ન કહેજે ખરાબ
જેમ તેં ઢાળ્યા એમ જ ઢળાયા અમે
કેમ, ક્યાં લગ અને કોને માટે છીએ
ખૂબ ગંભીર એવી સમસ્યા અમે.

It seems like its rhythm and meaning both got diluted in the process of translation. It is very difficult to get the impact that the original has, especially in poetry. Still, good to see a poem translated from my favorite collection “Tarkash”.
“Khwab ke gaanv mein pale ha hum
pani chhalni mein le chale hai hum”
“Tu ton mat kah humein bura duniya,
tune dhala hai aur dhale hai hum.”
